The short three-day "May Day" holiday did not dampen the public's enthusiasm for travel. Scenic spots across Shaanxi all experienced a peak in visitor numbers without exception.

This year's "May Day" mini-holiday saw Xianyang City receive a total of 1.025 million visitors, achieving a comprehensive tourism income of 420 million yuan, representing year-on-year increases of 36% and 30% respectively. Among these, tourist attractions (sites) received 164,000 visitors, rural tourism (farm stays) welcomed 600,000 visitors, Xianyang Lake scenic area hosted 200,000 visitors, and hot spring foot therapy services attracted 32,000 visitors. The city’s tourism offerings were rich and diverse, the tourism market was bustling yet orderly, and no tourism safety incidents occurred.

The May Day mini-holiday saw explosive tourism at Liquan Yuanjia Village

During this "May Day" mini-holiday, cultural and historical tourism in Xianyang was highly favored. Throughout the holiday period, major historical and cultural sites in the city such as the Qianling Mausoleum, Maoling Mausoleum, Hanyangling Museum, Sanyuan Chenghuang Temple, and Bin County Dafo Temple all saw an upward trend in visitor numbers. Specifically, the Qianling Mausoleum received 14,400 visitors with ticket revenue of 1.4 million yuan; the Maoling Museum welcomed 11,000 visitors and generated 156,000 yuan in ticket sales. Bin County Dafo Temple received 8,000 visitors, while the Hanyangling Museum had 5,000 visitors.

Rural tourism was exceptionally popular. Tourist spots such as Liquan Yuanjia Village, Xingping Mawei Station, and Weicheng Dashitou Village were packed with visitors, parking lots were in high demand, and tourist merchandise sold out quickly. Yuanjia Village received over 300,000 visitors, Mawei Station over 260,000, and Weicheng Dashitou Village more than 10,000. Leisure tourism continued to grow. Natural scenic areas such as Xianyang Lake, Haiquan Bay, Bin County Shilang Lake, Chengjiachuan Scenic Area, Xunyi Tangjia Folk Museum, Yongshou Loess Land, and Chunhua Zhongshan saw a continuous stream of visitors. Shilang Lake in Bin County received over 36,000 visitors; Haiquan Bay Hot Spring World held a media event for the large-scale musical dance fantasy drama "Haiquan Love Song" before the holiday, greatly boosting the May Day tourism market, with an estimated 8,000-plus visitors over the three days. Star-rated hotels saw generally higher occupancy rates, while social and budget hotels also garnered significant attention.

Festival events boosted holiday tourism. In the lead-up to "May Day," Xianyang City organized a number of tourism festival events that continuously heated up the tourism market. A series of regionally distinctive events—including the Second Rural Folk Culture Tourism Festival and the Tenth Spring Flower Appreciation Tourism Festival, the "Liquan Four Seasons Royal Fruit Journey" series of activities, the Taoyuanju Thousand-Mu Strawberry Tasting and Picking event, and the large-scale online promotional tour "Famous Netizens’ Beautiful Xianyang Journey"—garnered widespread attention from visitors. Self-driving scenic tours, visits to cultural relics and historic sites, and fresh fruit picking became popular choices for holidaymakers.

Prior to "May Day," Xianyang City issued the "Notice on Seriously Doing a Good Job in Tourism Reception During the 'May Day' Mini-Holiday," organizing member units of the city’s holiday tourism command center to conduct joint law enforcement inspections on the market order of major cultural relic tourist attractions (sites) across the city. During the "May Day" period, county and district cultural relic tourism departments and related units maintained 24-hour duty shifts, with no major tourism complaints reported and the tourism market remaining in good order.
