On April 16, the China General Chamber of Commerce and the China National Commercial Information Center held a press conference in Guizhou to announce the 2013 (22nd) China Market Commodity Sales Statistics Results, during which the "2013 Annual Monitoring Report on Major National Retail Enterprises and Consumer Markets" was released.

The report evaluates overall market share from two dimensions: market sales share and market coverage. According to the report, in the outdoor casual footwear market of major Chinese retail enterprises in 2013, CAMEL, the winner of last year’s Tmall Singles’ Day, held a 15.02% sales share. Columbia, which focuses mainly on physical store sales and commands higher average transaction values, had a market sales share of 23.91%, surpassing CAMEL. However, CAMEL, which operates nearly 4,000 stores nationwide, appears to have an advantage in channel coverage, with a 16.54% market coverage rate—far exceeding Columbia’s 7.35%.

Overall, CAMEL ranked first with a comprehensive market share of 15.93%, outperforming international brands such as Columbia and THE NORTH FACE, while the domestic brand Toread (Explorer) came in third.
