The Travelers Club, a club under the renowned British brand LONSDALE (China), has launched the “Travelers’ Dream Plan” Mount Kailash Kora activity. The event runs from June 29 to July 6, lasting 8 days. A kora pilgrimage in the Year of the Horse—once every 12 years—is your chance to explore the mysterious Ngari region.
Let’s go on a kora to the center of the world
On the vast land of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau stand many sacred mountains, large and small. You’ll often encounter pilgrims who devoutly worship these sacred peaks with their hearts and lives.
Yet Mount Kailash, commonly known as Snow Ling Mountain, located in Ngari, Tibet, may not appear particularly tall, but it is universally recognized as a sacred mountain. Hinduism, Tibetan Buddhism, the indigenous Bon religion of Tibet, and the ancient Jain religion all regard it as the highest sacred mountain, the center of the universe—Mount Meru.
It is said that one kora around the mountain washes away a lifetime of sins; ten koras exempt one from hell in 500 rebirths; and 100 koras can lead to enlightenment and ascension in this very life.
For thousands of years, pilgrims have come continuously, forming an intriguing and moving perpetual flow along the paths leading to the sacred mountain. The sacred mountain is deeply embedded in Tibet’s religious, historical, and cultural fabric. It is magical and captivating—a spiritual, cultural, and faith mountain where humans and gods, and humans and nature converge.
A kora around Mount Kailash in the Year of the Horse can eliminate 500 years of misfortune and multiply the merit by twelvefold, equivalent to thirteen regular koras—making it the most efficacious and meritorious.
