From June 7 to 8, 2014, Olympus will host the "Beautiful Because of Life" 2014 Olympus Masters Photography Exhibition at Nanli, Xintiandi, Shanghai. During the event, five renowned Chinese photographers from diverse fields will express their respect and understanding of "life" and "beauty" through their imagery, delivering a breathtaking visual feast.
Following the successful OM-D Masters Photography Exhibition in Beijing earlier this year, this Shanghai exhibition marks Olympus’s second in-depth collaboration with top domestic photographers in 2014. The exhibition will not only showcase the immense potential of Olympus’s high-end Micro Four Thirds camera, the OM-D, across various photographic genres, but also interpret the brand philosophy of Olympus through the theme "Beautiful Because of Life."
The five leading Chinese photographers have infused their own interpretations of the beauty of life into both the shooting and selection of their works. Teacher Meisheng presents the stunning "Song of Ice and Fire" from Iceland, Vanuatu Volcano, and Antarctica; Teacher Wang Jianjun traverses the United States, faithfully capturing his vision of "American Scenery"; Teacher Li Ge travels to Foguangshan in Taiwan, documenting the rarely seen documentary work "Meditation at Foguangshan"; female photographer Liang Zi infuses her deep understanding and love for the African land into her humanistic series "Journey Through Africa"; and Teacher Meng Qingran’s underwater photography work "Charm of the Ocean" brings the vibrant colors of the underwater world right before the eyes of the audience.
After nearly a century of development, Olympus has continuously helped people explore the beauty of life through the power of light in its three core business areas: imaging, healthcare, and life sciences. This "Beautiful Because of Life" Masters Photography Exhibition is Olympus’s interpretation of the beauty of life in the field of imaging. Nearly 40 moving works in the exhibition embody the photographers’ reverence and emotion toward "life" and "beauty," opening windows to the soul through unique perspectives.
