Recently, the 2014 "Luda Cup" National Off-Road Motorcycle Championship held in Damao Joint Banner successfully concluded. VAUDE "KAILAS Team" rider Peng Tianwei, facing a disadvantage in the first race, fought hard and made an impressive comeback in the second race, ultimately securing third place and stepping onto the podium.
It is understood that Damao Banner hosted the second round of the 2014 National Off-Road Motorcycle Championship, with a total of 17 teams and 100 riders participating. The races were divided into five categories: Imported 250CC Motorcycle Group A; Imported 250CC Motorcycle Group B; Domestic 250CC and Below Motorcycle Group; 150CC Motorcycle Group; and Domestic 110CC Youth Motorcycle Group. Among them, the Imported 250CC Motorcycle Group A is the professional category and has garnered considerable attention.
The competition was held in two rounds, with the final results being a combined score from both races. Therefore, participants had to perform well in both rounds to secure victory. Groups A and B of the Imported 250CC Motorcycle category started together, making it the highlight of the off-road motorcycle championship. To build confidence for the second race, most riders pushed themselves to the limit in the first one, delivering particularly thrilling performances. However, Peng Tianwei did not perform well in the first race, finishing only fifth. This put him at a significant disadvantage in terms of overall rankings, as analysis suggested he would need to finish in the top two in the second race to have a chance at a podium finish. Despite the setback, Peng Tianwei quickly adjusted his mindset and prepared actively. In the end, through determined effort, he staged an impressive comeback in the second race and, based on the combined scores of both rounds, secured third place and stepped onto the podium.
Although Shi Yumeng finished as runner-up, he expressed some frustration about the race, saying, "In the second race, I was overtaken by Peng Tianwei right at the start, and after that, he stayed ahead. No matter how hard I tried, I just couldn’t get past him. I wanted to push harder but just didn’t have the power." Peng Tianwei, who made it to the podium, was excited. His strategy, formed after the first day’s race, was to lead from the start, which he executed successfully. He crossed the finish line second and narrowly claimed third place in the overall standings.
