Mount Kailash (6,721 meters above sea level), the second highest peak of the Gangdise Mountains, is known in Tibetan as the "Mountain of the Gods" and in Sanskrit as "Shiva's Paradise" (Shiva being the supreme god of Hinduism). It is regarded as the center of the world by Hinduism, Tibetan Buddhism, the indigenous Bon religion of Tibet, and the ancient Jain religion. Circumambulating Mount Kailash once is said to wash away all sins committed in one’s lifetime; doing it ten times spares one from suffering in hell for 500 rebirths; and completing a hundred koras grants enlightenment and Buddhahood. In the Year of the Horse—the year of the Buddha’s birth—circumambulating the sacred mountain once is believed to generate merit equal to thirteen normal circumambulations. For many Tibetans, making a pilgrimage around Mount Kailash at least once in their lifetime is the greatest wish of all.

On September 1st, the "Ride the Wind 2014 Mount Kailash Kora" trekking activity will officially commence. This kora is organized by three team members who previously participated in the "Walking the Power" event initiated by Chen Kun. The hike is jointly launched by Green Field (GreenField.com), acting as the exclusive outdoor website, and will run for nine days from September 1st to September 9th.The participating trekkers have set out from Guangzhou, Beijing, Kunming, and Lanzhou, and gathered in Lhasa to begin this spiritual journey.
