A leading domestic outdoor brand, Explorer, has officially entered the smart wearable market. On September 19, it launched the world’s only optical transmission smart sports companion, the “Goccia Sprite,” which has been dubbed the “Tesla” of the smart wearables world.
Optical transmission outperforms Bluetooth: zero radiation, low energy consumption
The Explorer Goccia Sprite is a sports companion device jointly launched by Explorer and G-wearables Lab, based in California, USA. It features functions such as sports monitoring, sleep monitoring and analysis, positioning, sharing, and social interaction. Sports monitoring includes step counting, sedentary analysis, calorie consumption tracking, and goal setting. Unlike other smart wearables that rely on Bluetooth, the Explorer Goccia Sprite uses optical transmission — a unique feature globally. Users do not need to turn on Bluetooth; data can be synced using the front camera. “Zero radiation and low energy consumption” are among its most celebrated advantages.

The release of the Goccia Sprite by Explorer is seen as a signal of its official entry into the smart wearable industry. Previously focused on traditional outdoor gear, this move into a new category has generated high expectations among many consumers.
It is understood that the Explorer Goccia Sprite is compatible with Apple iPhone 4S, 5, 5C, 5S (iOS 7.0+). An Android version of the app will be launched at the end of September, supporting phones such as the Samsung S4/S5, catering to users of different mobile devices. During the National Day holiday, the Goccia Sprite will gradually appear in Explorer stores nationwide and go on sale simultaneously via the Tmall flagship store, with an expected retail price of 899 yuan.
