On September 18, 2014, the Road of Discovery – Getu Exploration, also known as the Global MBA EMBA Jungle Challenge, saw the start of its second leg. The 22-kilometer course ran from Xiabaiyi to Dahe Miao Village. After an intense battle, the Fudan University team from Fudan University’s School of Management retained a commanding lead in the rankings. The Sisters Team from Renmin University’s Business School came in second, closely followed by the Angry Beans Team, composed of EMBA participants from institutions such as the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China’s Business School and Shanghai Jiao Tong University’s Antai College of Economics and Management.
The spirit of teamwork was vividly demonstrated throughout the event. Many runners who crossed the finish line first took a brief rest and replenished their energy before returning to welcome their teammates. Some teams even advanced hand-in-hand, completing the entire leg together in solidarity.
As participants arrived one after another, the second leg of the Global MBA EMBA Jungle Challenge came to an end. At the picturesque Dahe Miao Village campsite within the stunning Getu River Scenic Area, contestants were deeply captivated by the magical landscape and the rustic charm of traditional culture. Whether it was the slightly turbulent waters of the Getu River due to consecutive days of rain or the generations of local Miao people living there, all combined to paint a serene and idyllic utopian scene. That day, the villagers of Dahe Miao Village treated the contestants to a spectacular Miao ethnic epic performance, drawing waves of applause and cheers.
As night fell, colorful tents once again adorned the campsite beautifully. Having endured a tough journey, the contestants retired early to sleep, quickly regaining their strength in preparation for the challenges of the third leg the next day.
By the 18th, the Global MBA EMBA Jungle Challenge had reached its halfway point. Contestants will commence the fierce competition of the third leg early the following morning. Will the Fudan University team maintain its lead? Can the Sisters Team from Renmin University pull off a comeback? Or will a dark horse emerge? Stay tuned to find out.
