The long-awaited Gudetama-themed restaurant “Gudetama Chef – Gudetama Five-Star Chef Restaurant” is finally set to begin its trial operation on October 8. Outside the restaurant, you can see the adorable sight of a giant upside-down five-star chef Gudetama plush, while inside, yellow is the dominant color scheme with Gudetama figures appearing throughout. Of course, there are also Gudetama-shaped meals, and their cute appearances are sure to make fans scream with delight.

The team at Sanrio Taiwan specially designed a limited-edition Gudetama Chef – the Five-Star Chef Gudetama, adding a touch of professionalism to the originally carefree-looking Gudetama. The restaurant is located right next to SOGO Zhongxiao Branch, and on the outside wall, you can see the cute sight of the giant upside-down five-star chef Gudetama plush. Stepping inside, you’ll be greeted by a professional chef Gudetama holding cooking utensils.

As for the restaurant’s decor, yellow is the main color scheme. In addition to large Gudetama prints visible all over the walls, there are also Gudetama-shaped chairs, specialty furniture made from kitchenware, giant Gudetama cutting boards, Gudetama light bulbs, and pillows – all guaranteed to keep fans snapping photos. The Gudetama Five-Star Chef Restaurant is full of creative touches, such as pots and frying pans extending from the walls to the ceiling, with Gudetama hanging or lying on these oversized “kitchen tools.” Even the restroom holds a little surprise.
Aside from the decor, the themed restaurant wouldn’t be complete without its character-shaped meals. Over half of the dishes feature Gudetama, with the largest and most adorable being the creamy salmon rice. The five-star chef Gudetama is made by stir-frying an egg with turmeric (resulting in a yellow hue), then served with slow-seared salmon pieces with sesame sauce, and you can drizzle on the included milk-white sauce before eating.

The Cloud Bandit Pizza features a bandit-style sauce that tastes a bit like black pepper, topped with whipped egg whites and Gudetama placed on top. The macaron rice burger consists of three mini rice burgers, with fillings including hamburger meat (with tartar sauce), thick-cut bacon (with mayonnaise), and shrimp patties. The Gudetama Rock Fried Egg wraps minced meat and bacon around a boiled egg, which is then coated in breadcrumbs and deep-fried. Many of Gudetama’s expressions are made from edible glutinous rice and then attached – without them, it just wouldn’t be Gudetama.

▲ Colorful Fruit Smoothie.
In addition to some appetizers and main courses, there are also desserts to enjoy, such as five types of pancakes, one of which is a special creamy honey pancake where the Gudetama is made from white chocolate and topped with honey.
Additionally, the shop offers dreamy gradient smoothies served in heat-resistant plastic bottles featuring Gudetama designs. Once finished, you can take the bottle home as an eco-friendly keepsake.
