In recent years, pet cafes have been all the rage, but dining with dogs and cats is no longer a novelty! ETtoday EBC News Cloud has specially compiled a list of two wildly popular animal-themed restaurants in New Taipei City where you can enjoy your meal with unexpected companions like alpacas and rabbits—how unique is that?

(1)Oia Art Cafe
This Oia Art Cafe, located in Sanzhi, New Taipei City, is a restaurant where you can get up close with alpacas. The alpacas may even come close to you while you’re eating, and the counter offers vegetables or fruits for guests to feed them. They act like the cafe’s managers, strolling around the premises calmly and fearlessly.

Aside from interacting with alpacas indoors, the outdoor area also has alpacas for you to take plenty of photos. Moreover, it’s very close to Shisihongshawan Beach. After your meal, you can head straight to the seaside for a stroll, enjoy the sea breeze, dip your feet in the waves, and snap some beautiful photos—it’s a great option too.

Since Oia Art Cafe is quite far from Tamsui MRT Station and not easy to reach (taking buses also takes a while), it’s recommended to drive or bike there. Also, because the alpacas have zero distance with guests, sometimes these two adorable creatures may get overly excited, start eating food around them, or even nibble on hair or clothes—so ladies, be mindful of your surroundings to avoid getting startled. Lastly, if you want to take satisfying photos, consider going on a weekday when there aren’t as many visitors. Overall, having a meal with alpacas right beside you is truly a cool experience.

Next up is this TO HOUSE Rabbit Restaurant located in Bali, Tamsui—a family-friendly restaurant suitable for both kids and adults. Both the indoor and outdoor decor are rabbit-themed. Dining in an environment accompanied by cute little bunnies always sends bunny-loving friends into a frenzy of photo-taking.

Besides rabbits in the indoor area, there’s also a cute animal zone outdoors where, in addition to rabbits, you can see many other animals such as piglets, sheep, cats, and parrots—like a mini zoo. The outdoor area also allows close interaction with rabbits, making it a complete paradise for kids. Parents can also take the opportunity to teach their children how to properly treat and understand animals.

This rabbit restaurant is near the Museum of the Thirteen Hongs, surrounded by beautiful scenery and delicious food, but it’s still recommended to have your own transportation for convenience.
