Tainan’s Handmade Toast Box Specialty Shop – The Adorable “Snoopy” Design Is Almost Too Cute to Eat

I discovered Mixia because I always pass by Park Road when taking the Tonglian bus back from Taichung. The slightly indented storefront with its Tiffany Green color scheme caught my eye, and I couldn’t help but take a second look—I immediately jotted down the shop name!! Notes~notes~ Then I checked out the shop’s social media page before coming to try it for myself. A foodie’s always on the lookout for delicious eats—sometimes even glancing around while on a bus ride. I guess you could say my food radar is pretty strong XD

Using their store dog, a Beagle named “Manyu,” as the shop’s logo is pretty adorable.

That holiday afternoon visit to Mixia—the bright Tiffany Green decor was eye-catching and had a cute vibe, with charming little cat and dog patterns. Seeing these lively, colorful designs instantly lifted my mood. The long, narrow shop has counter seating available for takeout or dine-in. They even sell beer, so you can enjoy a little afternoon drink. I really like this casual street-side feel.

There are also some cute little decorations in the shop—it feels like the owner hasn’t lost their childlike wonder either!! And there’s the adorable store dog “Manyu”~ though unfortunately, it didn’t show up that day.

The shop prides itself on using natural ingredients, never adding chemical additives. Even the meat fillings are hand-pounded in-house, all to give everyone peace of mind and a healthy dining experience. They refuse to use store-bought ready-made products, insisting on making everything themselves.

I heard even the peanut butter is homemade. Before I went, I’d already heard their peanut butter is delicious!! I’m definitely going to order something with peanut butter. Meals are made to order, so you’ll wait about 5–10 minutes—but they have quite a few heat presses, so you won’t have to worry about waiting too long.

Order any toast box + 40 NT to upgrade to a set meal!! The set includes a 30 NT side + a Manyu Black Tea each. It feels like a pretty good deal.

They mainly sell toast boxes, with savory and sweet options to choose from. But the owner plays favorites><咸口味的选择比较多，胖比比较爱甜食啦~不仅有吐司盒子还有小点可以搭配选择。当然饮品也不可以少Up~还有海尼根可以让你微醺一下。

Side: Harmony $60

The name is really cute—it’s truly a harmony of flavors, featuring a corn cake, fries, and chicken nuggets. It’s the idea of satisfying all your small snack cravings, a bit of everything. The corn cake looks like a chicken nugget at first glance, but biting into it reveals a sweet corn flavor—I thought it had a slight pudding-like taste. The fries are crispy without being greasy, and you can dip them in ketchup for extra flavor.

Their toast boxes are so cute!! There’s a Snoopy imprint on top ♥ Snoopy fans, get ready to swarm!! But are you really going to eat it?

Golden Kimchi Hand-Pounded Pork $50

I have to say, the texture of the hand-pounded pork cutlet is really different from the flat, pressed pork cutlets you get at regular breakfast shops!! Look~ the pork cutlet still has a solid, hearty thickness!! Paired with the uniquely rich flavor of golden kimchi, the delightful combination of the two is absolutely delicious. I love their hand-pounded pork cutlet ♥

French Mustard Rosemary Chicken Thigh Cutlet $60

The price might seem a bit on the higher side, but inside you’ll find mustard sauce, mashed potato filling, cheese, and a chicken thigh cutlet!! Biting into the crispy toast, paired with the rich, savory flavors of the mustard sauce and cheese, the creamy texture of the mashed potatoes blends in seamlessly. There’s also the slightly crispy texture of the chicken thigh cutlet—it’s really satisfying.

Hidden Edition: Evil Black Angel $60 (Sweet)

Toast boxes aren’t rare, but there’s a hidden edition too!! When you see the words “hidden edition,” it feels like you’d be doing yourself a disservice not to try it.

The outer layer of the hidden edition toast box is a crispy puff pastry, combined with heat-pressed toast. Inside, there’s chocolate brownie + invisible marshmallow + chocolate sauce. OHOHOH, this combo just feels super indulgent!!!

The layered puff pastry is undeniably crispy!! The brownie and chocolate sauce have a moist, rich flavor, and there’s also the sweetness of the invisible marshmallow. The overall sweetness is quite pronounced, making it perfect for those who love sweets.

Chocolate Original Cake $40

It’s a toast box spread with sweet chocolate, plus a thick layer of sponge cake. Even after heat-pressing, you can still feel the fluffy thickness of the sponge cake. Biting into it, the outer layer is crispy, the cake is soft and fluffy, with a slight moistness. It’s a creative toast box combining cake with sweet chocolate.

Old-Fashioned Peanut Walnut Crisp $40

This one is pretty special too!! It’s filled with walnut crisp—I didn’t expect walnut crisp to be something you could put inside a toast box!! Biting into it, you get the dense yet fluffy texture of walnut crisp, paired with the shop’s homemade peanut butter, giving off a rich aroma. It pairs really well with a sip of tea.

Cold Brew Rose Green $35

Cold-brewed without sugar, it’s very refreshing and helps cut through greasiness, with a subtle rose aroma lingering at the end.

Moyu Black Tea Milk $40

The perfect combination of black tea and milk, without using fructose but instead opting for premium second-grade sugar. I think it tastes really good.

Although there are quite a few toast box specialty stores outside, Mixia’s emphasis on quality ingredients — using homemade rather than ready-made items — has won over the stomachs of many foodies. And have you noticed they don’t offer ingredients like bacon or ham? Instead, they choose beef, pork, and chicken thighs, and even the sauces are made in-house. While the cost is relatively higher, the ingredients are truly authentic!! If you also love toast boxes, come and give them a try~
