On October 24, the 3rd Zhejiang Provincial Sports and Leisure Tourism Festival, hosted by the Zhejiang Provincial Sports Bureau and the Zhejiang Provincial Tourism Bureau and organized by the Yongjia County Government, will be held in Yongjia County, Wenzhou. Prior to this grand event, the organizing committee launched the "2014 Zhejiang Province's Most Popular Outdoor Sports and Leisure Destination" selection.

Zhejiang’s Sports and Leisure Industry Leads Nationally

Zhejiang was one of the first provinces to establish sports and leisure bases. In recent years, leveraging its abundant mountain-water resources and advantageous location in the Yangtze River Delta, the province has vigorously developed the sports and leisure industry—a healthy, people-benefiting, and green sector. The industry has become a significant growth driver for Zhejiang’s sports economy, resulting in the creation of a number of model sports and leisure zones and projects, the formation of several industry clusters, the development of integrated sports and leisure complexes, and the cultivation of multiple branded events.

The 3rd Zhejiang Provincial Sports and Leisure Tourism Festival 2014 will take place from October 24 to 26 in Yongjia County, Wenzhou, presenting an “Outdoor Sports Carnival.” Yongjia previously hosted two National Urban Orienteering Championships in 2008 and 2009. Building on that foundation, it has in the past two years held two China (Wenzhou) Forest Tourism Festivals and the China·Wenzhou International Mountain Outdoor Sports Challenge. Outdoor sports enthusiasts from countries such as the United States, the United Kingdom, France, and the Netherlands traverse the natural course sections—mountains, rivers, fields, villages, canyons, and forests—throughout the Nanxi River Scenic Area, adding endless charm to the event.

Cast Your Vote: A Nationwide People’s Choice

Since the launch of the selection campaign, there has been an enthusiastic response via WeChat and email channels. The 30 candidate destinations include cycling, kayaking, rock climbing, paragliding—covering all kinds of activities and styles. Voting runs from October 13 to October 22. There are two ways to vote: online voting and WeChat voting.

For online voting, visit the official website of Youth Times, click the navigation bar on the homepage to access the official voting page for the “2014 Zhejiang Province's Most Popular Outdoor Sports and Leisure Destination Selection.” For WeChat voting, scan the QR code on the official website to enter the WeChat voting page. Alternatively, follow the “Youth Times” WeChat public account, and type “vote” in the chat box to access the voting page.

Voting will close at the end of October 22 when the public voting period ends. Based on expert scoring, media recommendations, and public vote rankings, we will determine the “Top 10 Most Popular Outdoor Sports and Leisure Destinations in Zhejiang Province 2014.”

Most importantly, the prizes for this vote are generous. Not only will we give away 500 car trash bins, but the grand prize is an iPhone 6. We will randomly select winners from the backend every day to receive a car trash bin. The lucky winner of the iPhone 6 will be drawn after the entire campaign concludes.

If you’re into outdoor sports, cast your vote for your favorite outdoor sports and leisure destination.Of course, we also encourage you to share widely and get more people involved.

“Represent” Your Hometown and Win Big

Additionally, throughout the 3rd Zhejiang Provincial Sports and Leisure Tourism Festival, Zhejiang Youth Media will use newspapers, television, and WeChat platforms to launch the “I Love Sports, I Love Leisure, I Represent My Hometown” campaign. During this time, you’re welcome to share creative texts, photos, audio, and videos. Winners will be selected through a popularity screenshot-based lottery to choose the final popular representatives.

For example, you can write: “I love sports, I love leisure, I represent my hometown. I am (for example, Wang Dan), my hometown is a sports and leisure paradise (for example, Hangzhou), and I represent my hometown!” Add photos and videos: any content that showcases the sports and leisure destination you’re representing is acceptable, such as taking a photo with a handmade “representation” signboard, or recording a personal story, message, comic doodle, etc.

Send the above images and text to the WeChat public account “Youth Times.” The content should be as fresh, creative, stylish, and appealing as possible to encourage sharing and likes. We will ultimately award one grand prize.
