A sound ecological environment has long been a beautiful hallmark and unique advantage of Beihai, Guangxi. Here, you’ll find blue skies, azure seas, brilliant sunshine, and silvery beaches; the starting port of the ancient Maritime Silk Road; a century-old street that tells the vicissitudes of history; a vibrant fishing culture brimming with the joys and sorrows of seafarers; and the mysterious and ancient culture of the Zhuang people. Known as one of China’s “Top Ten Most Beautiful Coastal Cities,” Beihai is also famed as the “Photographers’ Paradise.” For photography enthusiasts, Beihai offers landscapes, human interest, cultural heritage, folk customs, architecture, ports, wetlands, and seascapes — all providing rich material for artistic expression and allowing photographers to capture the natural beauty and cultural charm of Beihai.
The outdoor photography activities of the competition will last for three days. Some of the competition entries will be exhibited to the South Korean public from November 14 to 16 at the 2014 China (Gwangju) Culture Festival, part of the “Strolling Through China” series. The call for submissions, open to professional photographers and photography enthusiasts nationwide, is now underway and will run for three months. Amateur and professional photographers are welcome to participate.
