Moyan Mountain in Miaoli is situated at the border between Gongguan and Touwu. Its flat, square-shaped summit resembles an inkstone from afar—hence its name. Hiking up the trail to the top rewards you with a 360-degree panoramic view, where the mountains and plains of Miaoli City are fully visible. Whether it's sunny or rainy, different beautiful sceneries await, making it a perfect spot for hiking and photography.

Although Moyan Mountain offers beautiful views in all weather conditions, whether it's sunny, rainy, sunrise, or sunset, there are no streetlights on the mountain. Therefore, it's best to bring lighting equipment for both hiking and photography, and be mindful of insect bites and snakes.

How to Get There: From Miaoli Route 25, turn onto the industrial road of National Freeway 1 culvert about 1.1 km in, then head toward Qudong Palace in Touwu Township to reach the entrance of the Moyan Mountain Ancient Trail. It’s about a 400-meter walk to the summit of Moyan Mountain.
