Emeishan, December 1, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- In the early winter, the E’xiu Lake International Resort Area is even more vibrant than in autumn. It seems the warmth of Thanksgiving has not yet faded, and under the sunshine, it fills everyone with a deep sense of warmth. On the morning of November 28, 2014, the Blue Horizon Anantara Resort Mount Emei welcomed sixth and seventh grade students and teachers from Leshan Special Education School.

On that day,at the resort’s Western restaurant, Yunjuan Pavilion, restaurant manager -- Margaret “Teacher” from Bulgaria shared Western table etiquette with the children, teaching them how to fold a special Christmas tree napkin, how to properly use knives and forks, and how to observe dining manners—such as not standing up to reach for food that is too far away, chewing with one’s mouth closed to avoid noise, and maintaining a grateful heart for the food and those who prepare it. Finally, Margaret “Teacher” also talked about unique dining customs around the world, such as in Portugal, where it’s best not to ask for salt and pepper if they are not on the table, as it may imply dissatisfaction with the dish and disrespect toward the chef.

After the etiquette class, the children immediately put what they had learned into practice. During lunch, they behaved very gracefully and politely, using sign language to thank the restaurant staff. They also finished all the food on their plates—aside from finding it fresh and delicious, this sincerely showed their respect and gratitude toward the chefs.

In the afternoon, the children also participated in a fun sports event organized by the hotel, showcasing their special talents -- with a sign language performance of the song "Grateful Heart," which moved all the staff present. The employees were touched and remarked that although these children simply speak a different language, they have the same optimistic, uplifting, and grateful hearts as anyone else.

Mr. Wu Yingyao, General Manager of the hotel, also extended a warm welcome on behalf of the resort, stating: “This is only the first time we’ve invited you to visit. In the future, we will have even more meaningful and wonderful activities to share with you!”
