The hotel was transformed into a winter wonderland, with a giant Christmas tree surrounded by a speeding mini train and a cozy Nordic village, heralding the start of this festive season.

As a charity project with a 19-year legacy, this year’s “Charity Mini Train” will continue its tradition by using the funds raised to support the “Rising Sun” charity program, providing educational funding for underprivileged students in Shanghai, as well as medical assistance for impoverished patients and their families at Shanghai Renji Hospital. Speech by General Manager Gerd Knaust at the Tree Lighting Ceremony
On the evening of November 28, numerous media friends, hotel VIPs, and philanthropic individuals gathered to witness this meaningful moment. Accompanied by the melodious singing of children, Mr. Gerd Knaust, General Manager of Shanghai Hilton, delivered his holiday message. This was followed by a dazzling laser show in the hotel lobby, in line with the magical Christmas theme. General Manager Gerd Knaust then activated the laser beam to light up the Christmas tree, officially kicking off this magical Christmas season.

The hotel’s large and small Christmas trees were illuminated layer by layer, while the loud whistle signaled the official launch of the Hilton Christmas Charity Mini Train. The tree lighting ceremony came to a heartwarming close amid the melodious Christmas carols.
From now until January 2015, exquisitely crafted houses, countryside bridges, vintage gas stations, snow-capped railways winding through villages, and charming snowy scenes will accompany everyone through a joyful and heartwarming Christmas season.
