Park (Scenic Area) Introduction
Olympic Forest Park is located in the northern part of Beijing Olympic Park, covering an area of 680 hectares. At the time of its construction, it was the largest urban park planned and built in Beijing.
As the northern endpoint of Beijing’s central urban axis, the forest park introduced the concept of an “axis leading to nature,” where the axis gradually blends into nature and disappears into the forest
. The North Fifth Ring Road runs through the park, dividing it into a southern and a northern section. The southern park mainly features artificial landscapes and leisure activities, while the northern park emphasizes ecological gardens and natural
wilderness. The two parks are connected by an ecological corridor that spans the Fifth Ring Road along the central axis. Part of the Olympic venues are located in the western section of the park.

Friendly Tips:
1. Electric scooters for rent within Olympic Forest Park are only available in the South Park. To ride in the North Park, you’ll need to rent again. Therefore, even during peak seasons, the North Park remains quite uncrowded. Currently, Metro Line 8 has a station called Lincuiqiao on the North Fifth Ring Road, which is the closest metro stop to the North Park, but you’ll still need to walk several hundred meters to reach the West Gate of the North Park. There is only one ecological corridor connecting the North and South Parks over the North Fifth Ring Road. First-time visitors to the North Park can easily get lost, so it’s best to go for a run with a friend who knows the area to get familiar with the surroundings.
2. The South Park of Olympic Forest Park features a five-kilometer-long rubber track that loops around the park. The track is clearly marked on the ground, and distance signs are placed along the route—facilities that are among the best in the world. For beginners, running here allows you to enjoy the scenery and breathe fresh air while protecting your knees from impact. If you choose not to run on the rubber track, you can take a shortcut for a shorter loop—the final few kilometers of the Beijing Marathon are run on this route.
3. Please note that there are not many dining options near Olympic Forest Park. The closest food and beverage spots are concentrated to the east, along Dàtún Běilù heading east.
4. Olympic Forest Park has rest stations at regular intervals, offering shelter from wind and rain. There are also vending kiosks placed throughout, and restrooms are widely available. The park provides electric scooter and group bicycle rentals, as well as sightseeing carts, catering to the needs of various visitors. It's an ideal place for family outings or get-togethers with friends for outdoor leisure activities.
