Beijing, Dec. 10, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Embracing Marriott International’s community service spirit of “Spirit to Serve,” on December 6, 2014, Beijing Jinmao Renaissance Hotel invited children from Beijing Wenhua School, a school serving children of migrant workers, to participate in a specially prepared Christmas gingerbread house decorating class, delivering warm Christmas wishes to the children. Ms. Zhang Xin, General Manager of the hotel, extended warm greetings and early Christmas blessings to the kids during the event. Accompanied by hotel staff, 10 excited children donned chef hats and aprons and eagerly joined the gingerbread house decorating class. The culinary team first introduced knowledge related to Western Christmas traditions, then guided the children step-by-step on how to decorate. Just as everyone was having fun, Yao Ming’s surprise visit brought immense joy to the children. Yao Ming decorated gingerbread houses with the kids, and after the class, he presented certificates for completing the gingerbread house decorating course and took group photos with them. Before leaving, a child representative gifted Yao Ming a gingerbread house on behalf of the hotel, while each child also took home their own carefully decorated gingerbread house as a Christmas gift. The Yao Foundation, established by China’s renowned former basketball player Yao Ming, is dedicated to promoting the comprehensive development of Chinese youth in education, sports, health, and psychology.
