Recently, media outlets including Zhejiang Daily, Qianjiang Evening News, and Zhejiang Online jointly released the announcement of winners for the “China Quality Awards – Zhejiang Overall Evaluation List,” selecting 20 award-winning organizations across four categories. New Century Hotels & Resorts made the list, earning the “Management Innovation Award,” with only five organizations in the province receiving this honor.

In recent years, Zhejiang’s economy has embarked on a path of transformation and upgrading, shifting from “leading in speed” to “leading in quality.” Many Zhejiang enterprises have enhanced their core competitiveness by adopting new approaches such as lean production, informatization, and automated manufacturing, with leading brand products ranking at the forefront of their industries both domestically and internationally. To promote Zhejiang’s outstanding enterprises, products, and quality standards to a broader global stage, the “China Quality Awards – Zhejiang Overall Evaluation List” 2014 public selection campaign, hosted by Zhejiang Media Group and organized by Zhejiang Daily Press Group, was launched in May of this year.

With the theme “China Quality: Spotlight on Zhejiang Enterprises,” this public selection campaign conducted in-depth research on exemplary Zhejiang businesses, constructing a data model for “China Quality” to guide Chinese enterprises toward achieving qualitative growth and sustainable development through transformation and upgrading. The campaign approached evaluation from three major dimensions—standards, quality, and management—and used ecological conservation as a benchmark to select winners for the 2014 China Quality Awards – Zhejiang Overall Evaluation List: Outstanding Contribution Award, R&D Innovation Award, Standards Innovation Award, and Management Innovation Award.

New Century Hotels & Resorts ranks among the top 50 global hotel groups and is the largest privately-owned high-star hotel chain in China, second in scale only to domestic peers in the high-star category. The group leads in quality management, boasts strong brands, and delivers outstanding performance. It has taken the lead in or participated in revising and formulating industry standards, driving consumer demand through innovation and effectively improving management and operational efficiency through intelligent and digitalized methods. It also emphasizes environmental protection and safety management, meeting all quality indicators outlined in the “National Quality Development Outline (2011–2020).” Thanks to its advanced quality management, remarkable business performance, and positive social image, New Century Hotels & Resorts has previously been awarded honors such as the Xiaoshan District Government Quality Award, Hangzhou Municipal Government Quality Award, Quality Work Advanced Unit of Jiangsu-Zhejiang-Anhui-Jiangxi-Shanghai Region, Zhejiang Provincial Government Quality Award Nomination, and the China Association for Quality Quality Technology Award.

During the selection period, the official campaign website Zhejiang Online also launched a special section for the “China Quality Awards – Zhejiang Overall Evaluation List,” allowing public voting and nominations. Based on reader votes and expert opinions, New Century Hotels & Resorts met the seven evaluation criteria of the list and ultimately stood out to receive this prestigious award.
