Compared to competitive team sports like soccer or basketball, outdoor extreme challenges are packed with thrills and excitement, often stirring up the adrenaline of spectators. Due to their high-risk nature, they have also been dubbed “the games of the lonely.” However, at the recently concluded Shuangqiaogou International Ice Climbing Festival and the National Drytooling Competition, extreme athletes leveraged high-tech smartphones to “go wild” together with onlookers, making the event more engaging for the audience.
The International Ice Climbing Festival took place in two climbing zones within the Shuangqiaogou Scenic Area: Nianyuba and the Five-Colored Ice Wall. During the challenge, geeks used the nubia phone’s unique star-trail photography feature along with local villagers to capture the new year’s star trails.

In recent years, with the rapid popularization of mobile internet, people’s desire for social interaction has grown stronger than ever. Thanks to the portability and easy sharing features of smartphones, coupled with increasingly powerful camera capabilities, outdoor extreme challenges — once considered low on interactivity — are poised to become even more mainstream.
