Southeast Asia’s proximity to Taiwan, along with short flight durations and low living costs, makes it a favorite destination for many young people and backpackers. The government is also actively promoting visa-free measures for Thailand to boost exchanges between Taiwan and Thailand. Capitalizing on the growing number of tourists traveling between Taiwan and Thailand, Thai low-cost airline Lion Air will launch the Taipei-Bangkok route on October 20, operating one flight per day. In addition, Thai Smile Airways will also open a new route between Bangkok and Kaohsiung in October, also with one daily flight.
