Hosted by Leyouquba Outdoor Network and guided by the Rock & Ice Climbing Department of the China Mountaineering Association“2015The Yunmeng Gorge Ice Climbing Festival & National Ice Climbing Technical Exchange Conference”was1May24,25successfully held in Beijing.
This two-day ice climbing-themed event featured technical equipment training, beginner ice climbing experiences, an ice climbing newcomers’ competition, difficulty-level competitions, guest speaker sessions, and more. It aimed to enhance the understanding of ice climbing among outdoor enthusiasts, encourage greater participation in the sport, and contribute to the healthy development of ice climbing in China.
Ding Xianghua, head of the Rock & Ice Climbing Department of the China Mountaineering Association, and coaches Wang Yunlong,Luo Biao, along with10newly trained students, and over100ice climbing enthusiasts from across the country, as well as representatives from several professional media outlets, arrived at the scene to exchange skills and experiences. The impressive performances of the participants created an exciting and vibrant atmosphere. Many enthusiasts not only enjoyed watching high-level competitions but also learned and improved their own climbing techniques. After intense competition, the men’s and women’s champions in the newcomers category were Mou Fangjian and Liang Rui respectively.;The men’s and women’s champions in the difficulty category were Chan Lap Ki from Hong Kong and Yang Chunfeng from Beijing.

This event was not only a platform for technical exchange but also served to foster emotional connections among ice climbing enthusiasts nationwide.
