The Taoyuan City Flight Attendants’ Union held a “Pledge Rally to Sue China Airlines for Breach of Contract” at 2 p.m. on the 14th. Flight attendants each threw an egg at the company’s sign, angrily denouncing “China Airlines for its lack of integrity, vowing to fight again.” China Airlines had previously expressed strong condemnation, and today (the 16th), it specially issued a press release stating that it will file both civil and criminal lawsuits against the Flight Attendants’ Union.

Regarding the egg attack on its company sign on the 14th, China Airlines issued a press release today stating that its current scale is the result of the efforts of over 12,000 employees and the dedication of countless predecessors. Based on strong condemnation of illegal and disorderly behavior, and in order to protect the rights and interests of all employees and shareholders, it will file civil and criminal lawsuits against the Flight Attendants’ Union for the damage caused to its reputation and property.

In addition, China Airlines also stated that apart from the performance evaluation mutual assessment agreement, which is still under active negotiation due to technical execution difficulties, all seven signed agreements are being continuously implemented. These include increasing overseas station allowances to US$4 per hour starting July this year, not changing reporting locations without union consent, granting the union’s representatives official leave for union affairs, providing 123 days of annual leave (8 days per month, 30 days per quarter), double wages for working on national holidays, and opposing Article 84-1 of the Labor Standards Act, among other issues.
