Amid Beijing and Zhangjiakou’s joint bid for the Winter Olympics, public enthusiasm for winter sports has soared. On February 14, the “8th Canadian Nanshan Amateur Mogul Skiing Competition” kicked off with great excitement at Beijing Nanshan Ski Resort. Mogul skiing enthusiasts from across the country gathered in Beijing to deliver an impressive performance showcasing their improved skills for the new ski season.
At the event, Brian Norman, Chief Judge of the competition and a PSIA-certified American professional ski instructor, expressed surprise at how quickly Chinese skiers have achieved a high level of skill in just a few years. He was also highly impressed by the joyful atmosphere of the competition. He hopes to engage in more exchanges and communication with Chinese skiers next year.
In addition to title sponsorship by the Canadian Tourism Commission, brands such as Toread (TOREAD), AEE action cameras, HTC, REIMA, PICTURE, ELAN, NORDICA also provided a wealth of prizes for the winning athletes. The children who had just won the championship in the “Nanshan Children’s Ski Race” held that morning also came to the awards ceremony to cheer everyone on.

This much-anticipated event for dual slalom skiing enthusiasts witnesses the growth of Chinese skiers.
