On the afternoon of March 26, Peter Beggs, Director of New Zealand's Antarctic Division, and Long Wei, Deputy Director of the International Exchange Office of the Polar Department at China's State Oceanic Administration, visited the Explorer R&D Center. Sheng Faqiang, founder and chairman of Explorer, accompanied them on the tour. The two sides engaged in in-depth exchanges and discussions on the research and development of polar expedition equipment, and expressed great anticipation for future collaboration.

On November 20, 2014, China and New Zealand signed an intergovernmental agreement on Antarctic cooperation, promoting bilateral collaboration in the Antarctic field.
