The Basel World Watch and Jewellery Show 2015, renowned as the "world's premier watch exhibition," was held from March 19 to March 26, 2014, at the Messe Basel in Switzerland. 　　This year, under the Basel show theme “GLOBAL TIME SYNC – Time Synchronized Across the Globe,” Casio proudly unveiled its latest GPS + radio solar watches and Bluetooth smartwatches. The GPS + radio solar watch combines two different time calibration modes—GPS satellite signal reception and standard radio wave reception (6-wave reception)—within the watch itself, quickly analyzing time zone and daylight saving information to deliver more reliable and precise time correction no matter where you are. The Bluetooth smartwatch utilizes low-energy Bluetooth 4.0 technology to connect the watch with a smartphone, enabling bidirectional control between the phone and the watch for a more convenient user experience. Powering these high-performance features is Casio’s proprietary solar power system, which can convert not only sunlight but also weak fluorescent light sources into electrical energy and store it in a high-capacity battery, ensuring stable operation of all functions.

Inspired by the view of Earth’s glittering lights from space at night, the OCW-G1000S features gold accents on the 7 o’clock sub-dial bezel and 4 o’clock button to symbolize twinkling lights, while the 12 o’clock Roman numerals are crafted from 18K gold and the hands’ axis is inlaid with re-crystallized sapphire, delivering a luxurious sense of quality.
