First Council Meeting Successfully Held
Haikou, March 31, 2015 / PRNewswire -- On March 26, 2015, Beijing time, China’s first officially certified vacation ownership industry organization – the China Vacation Development Professional Committee (English abbreviation: CARD) – after nearly half a year of preparation, finally held its inaugural council meeting successfully, officially marking the establishment of the committee. This signifies that China’s vacation ownership industry now truly has a professional association organization, which will be able to provide more support and assistance for the healthy and sustainable development of the entire industry in the future.
The attending council members included not only outstanding domestic vacation ownership operators represented by HNA Club Vac Holiday Club, but also internationally renowned hotel and vacation ownership brands that have entered or are about to enter the Chinese vacation ownership market, such as Diamond Resorts International; as well as the world’s largest vacation ownership exchange companies RCI and II; representatives of Chinese resort hotel developers; and authoritative scholars and legal experts who have studied the vacation ownership industry for many years.
During the meeting, the council members unanimously voted to pass the “Articles of Association of the China Vacation Development Professional Committee,” clarifying the mission and objectives of the committee. They also engaged in extensive and in-depth discussions on industry ethics standards, government cooperation, promoting the introduction of industry regulations, and the development plan for 2015, thereby defining the main working ideas and directions for the committee.
Although the vacation ownership industry has been developing in China for many years, compared to Europe and the United States, it is still in its early stages. However, as a cross-sector new model integrating real estate, hospitality, and tourism, the vacation ownership industry holds immeasurable growth potential in the Chinese market. It is believed that through CARD’s continuous efforts in international exchanges, government communication, industry consulting, and regulatory oversight, China’s vacation ownership industry will surely become an even more shining star in the global market landscape.
