Dassault Aviation has signed an agreement with Deer Jet Co., Ltd. authorizing Deer Jet to provide business jet maintenance and unscheduled maintenance services for the Falcon 7X.
Deer Jet, headquartered at Beijing Capital Airport, is one of the largest business jet operators in the Asia-Pacific region, managing and supporting a large fleet that includes the Falcon 7X.
Kathy Liu, Customer Service Director for Dassault Falcon in the Asia-Pacific region, said: "Deer Jet is well-equipped and staffed with highly trained personnel capable of supporting the growing number of Falcon aircraft operating to and from Beijing. Moreover, as an operator of the Falcon 7X, Deer Jet brings extensive experience and practical expertise, which will be of great benefit to customers requiring assistance."
Under the authorized service agreement signed today, Deer Jet will provide line maintenance (up to 2A and 2A+ level inspections) at its Beijing maintenance center, as well as unscheduled maintenance for Falcon 7X aircraft registered in China. Deer Jet has also applied for full maintenance organization approvals from the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), which are expected to be granted within one year.
Currently, Deer Jet has three technicians dedicated to Falcon customer support, including providing 24/7 AOG (Aircraft on Ground) support. Its maintenance center is also equipped with a large array of Falcon-specific tools and spare parts, and can access over $5 million worth of spare parts from the nearby Dassault Beijing parts depot.
The Falcon 7X is Dassault's fastest-selling Falcon model, with more than 250 produced since certification in 2007. Of these, 35 long-range trijet 7Xs are based in China, making it the second-largest 7X fleet in the world, after the U.S. Last year, the Falcon 7X completed test flights at Daocheng Yading Airport in Sichuan Province, China, and was approved for operation at the world’s highest-altitude commercial airport, at 14,470 feet.
Continuing expansion of customer support network in China and the Asia-Pacific
To meet the needs of the existing fleet and future growth, Dassault has been rapidly enhancing its customer support capabilities in China.
The company recently expanded its Beijing parts depot inventory by 15%, reaching $5.2 million, and plans to continue expanding in the near future.
Dassault has also increased its Singapore parts depot inventory by 50%, stocking 3,000 of the most in-demand parts for in-production aircraft. The total value of inventory across the company’s regional distribution centers in the Asia-Pacific now exceeds $30 million.
In 2013, Dassault established its Customer Service Headquarters in Beijing under the leadership of Customer Service Director Kathy Liu, with a team consisting of two field technical representatives and three customer service managers providing assistance with warranty, spare parts, and other operational matters. Recently, Kathy Liu’s team has expanded further with the addition of one regional technical manager and a third field technical representative.
