The Color Run originated in the United States. Since 2011, this running event promoting health, happiness, and mass participation has become a global phenomenon. In 2013, the Color Run came to China, quickly sweeping major cities with its colorful energy.
This “Mutianyu Mountain Color Run,” co-hosted by Beijing’s Mutianyu Great Wall and jointly organized by Lvmama Travel Network and NUSKIN, kicked off on May 10th with the starting gun fired in celebration. For the first time, the Mutianyu Great Wall Scenic Area brings the city’s Color Run to the mountains. At the foot of the Great Wall, far from the hustle and bustle and the smog, you can enjoy unbridled joy. Located in Huairou District, the Mutianyu Great Wall is a national 5A-level scenic spot, surrounded by rolling hills and breathtaking views, often praised as “the most outstanding stretch of the Great Wall.” With over 96% vegetation coverage, it forms a natural oxygen bar—a rare paradise away from the “toxins.” It’s definitely one of the must-see sights during Beijing’s spring outings.
This “Mountain Color Run” adds a splash of vibrancy to the traditional charm of the ancient Great Wall, while also giving us young people a chance to get closer to and better understand traditional culture. Enjoy the spring blossoms and nature while bonding with family and friends during this crazy “Color Run,” soaking up the sunshine of spring.
Event Dates: May 10, 2015
Event Time: 10:00–12:00. One session begins every hour, with participants entering the official Color Run course at intervals of 50 people every three minutes.
Event Location: Visitor Service Center, Mutianyu Great Wall Scenic Area, Beijing
Race Rules: A 3.6-kilometer uphill mountain trail featuring four color powder stations. No timing, no rankings—unlike traditional races, the Mountain Color Run doesn’t focus on speed or placing. There’s only one standard: crossing the finish line in the coolest, most colorful outfit possible. Multiple grand prizes await the brave competitors, and lucky participants will be randomly selected as well.

Color Run Tips:
1. Sign up early and buy your tickets now—you really don’t want to miss out.
2. Be sure to encourage your friends to join, too—you’ll want someone to run and splash paint with.
3. Arrive as early as possible. Once there, use your mobile e-ticket to pick up your “goodie bag,” then stow your phone away in your waist pack or pocket. After receiving your free T-shirt with your ticket, feel free to customize it creatively—cut it or tear it up—for a more unique look, as you’ll be wearing it throughout the run.
4. Bring a raincoat to avoid awkwardness and disapproving looks on your way back.
5. Just wear an old pair of pants and shoes that are fine to get dirty—no one will care or even notice what shoes you’re wearing.
6. Go ahead and happily “attack” others with your color powder—and embrace being “attacked” in return. You’ll find that those covered head-to-toe in color are the most celebrated.
7. Don’t litter your empty water bottles. Play in a 5A-level scenic area and maintain 5A-level behavior.
8. See an attractive guy or girl? Go say hi—this might be your only chance to make a move.

10. After reaching the finish line, don’t linger—remember to use your complimentary ticket to hike up the Great Wall and take in the stunning views of spring transitioning into summer, enjoying a rare moment of peace in the afternoon.
