Xinhua News Agency, Xining, May 12 (Wang Xiaoqing) — According to the Qinghai Provincial Sports Bureau, the first Qinghai “Kanbula Cup” hiking and mountaineering competition will be held on May 19, 2015, at the Kanbula National 4A-level Scenic Area.
It is reported that this “Kanbula Cup” hiking and mountaineering competition is jointly organized by the Qinghai Provincial Sports Bureau, the People’s Government of Jianzha County, the Huangnan Prefecture Kanbula Scenic Area Conservation and Utilization Administration, the Huangnan Prefecture Culture and Sports Bureau, and the Huangnan Prefecture Tourism Bureau. It is hosted by the Qinghai Provincial Mountaineering Sports Management Center, the Jianzha County Culture, Sports, Radio, Television and Tourism Bureau, and the Regong Culture and Conservation Co., Ltd.
The First Qinghai “Kanbula Cup” Hiking and Mountaineering Competition will last one day, with the race route set entirely within the Kanbula National Park and covering a total distance of 20 kilometers. The event will feature 500 participants from mountaineering and hiking member organizations across the province, 50 participants from the provincial sports authorities, and 150 hiking and mountaineering enthusiasts from Huangnan Prefecture and Jianzha County, totaling 700 participants. This hiking and mountaineering competition is a large-scale, widely participatory, and highly competitive and scenic activity that attracts significant attention across the province.
Located in the southeastern part of Qinghai Province, Jianzha County lies in the northern part of Huangnan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture. It is one of the regions rich in cultural and tourism resources in the province and also a golden spot along the “China Summer Capital” tourism circle. In recent years, leveraging its abundant resource advantages, Jianzha County has vigorously developed its cultural tourism and sports industries, driving the healthy and rapid economic and social development of the entire county.
May 19, 2015, marks the fifth “China Tourism Day.” The First “Kanbula Cup” Hiking and Mountaineering Competition, held in Kanbula, Qinghai, aims to celebrate the occasion, foster a positive atmosphere in society that values, participates in, and supports tourism, and through the platform of the hiking and mountaineering competition, promote the development of national fitness, expand the external influence of Jianzha’s cultural tourism, enhance the brand of Kanbula National Park and the “Beautiful Jianzha,” fully showcase Jianzha’s unique local customs and rich tourism resources, and further advance the integrated development of culture, sports, and tourism.
