JTB West Japan Co., Ltd. has been expanding its network of tourist information centers for inbound visitors in the Kansai region, and KTIC Kyoto will be the third such center following previously established centers in Osaka Shinsaibashi and Kansai International Airport (Kansai International Airport).
The Kyoto-based, diversified Keihan Group is investing resources in developing its tourism business, and hopes to attract more overseas visitors by establishing KTIC Kyoto at one of its group companies, Kyoto Tower.
JR Kyoto Station is the gateway for visitors to Kyoto, a world-famous tourist destination, and is expected to attract even more overseas visitors in the future. Kyoto Tower is a landmark building located at the north entrance of JR Kyoto Station. KTIC Kyoto will offer a variety of services, including providing tourist information about Kyoto and other attractions in Japan, handling bookings for JTB's overseas visitor tours (such as "Sunrise Tours" and "Experience Kansai"), selling transportation passes, and arranging luggage forwarding.
