Selecting the finest fabrics to create the best wearing experience
Originating from the MARSANNE family of France in 1890, CIMALP was co-founded in 1964 with the then-renowned French mountaineer Mr. GONDRANT. It sponsoredMs. Laurence de la Ferrière’s outdoor apparel in 1996–1997, enabling her to become the first woman in the world to cross Antarctica solo. Later, in 2012, it became the official partner of FFME France. In French, CIMALP means the highest peak of the Alps, considered nature’s most perfect creation, symbolizing eternity, solidity, and beauty.
On this, Yuan Wenhe explained that all of CIMALP (Shimaltu)’s fabrics come from the world’s top outdoor fabric suppliers, located across Europe, Japan, Korea, and Taiwan. “Of course, this is inseparable from CIMALP (Shimaltu)’s consistent positioning. The reason we acquired its permanent operating and agency rights in mainland China as well as Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan is precisely because of its influence in the high-end outdoor market in Europe.” Yuan Wenhe stated that in China’s outdoor brand market, the high-end segment has long been dominated by foreign brands. As a brand with European roots like CIMALP (Shimaltu), after the acquisition, it aims to compete with international brands in the field of urban leisure and high-quality outdoor gear.
With the growing anticipation of China’s successful bid for the 2022 Winter Olympics, CIMALP (Shimaltu), with its long history of designing and producing mountaineering and skiwear, specially launched a series of fashionable skiwear, which were prominently displayed at this exhibition. The CIMALP (Shimaltu) skiwear series uses high-tech, lightweight, durable, and tear-resistant fabrics, with surfaces treated with Teflon for oil and stain resistance. They also feature YKK waterproof zippers, underarm ventilation zippers, energy-focused heat-reflective linings, adjustable waistbands, abrasion-resistant fabric at the hem, hem zippers, and windproof cuffs. The windproof hood effectively blocks wind and snow from hitting the face.
