The Shanghai Soong Ching Ling Foundation, guided by the social philanthropy ideals of teaching people how to fish and sustainable development, established the Farmers’ Entrepreneurship Relay Plan in early 2013 with the core aim of fundamentally improving development conditions for students and children from impoverished families. The plan seeks to alleviate rural poverty and the issue of left-behind children, while also encouraging migrant workers to return to their hometowns, thereby promoting family harmony and social stability. As a result, the number of left-behind children has been effectively reduced, and attention has been given to their mental health during their formative years. All funds raised by the Shanghai Soong Ching Ling Foundation on the night will be used for its “Farmers’ Entrepreneurship Relay Plan.”
The China Rural Children’s Critical Illness Medical Insurance Public Welfare Fund was jointly initiated by numerous media outlets, public welfare advocates, social celebrities, and the China Youth Development Foundation, aiming to provide free critical illness medical insurance services to rural children in China. As of June 30, a total of 617,011 children aged 0–16 have received free medical coverage thanks to joint efforts, and 4,182 children have received compensation. Over the years, the Critical Illness Medical Insurance Public Welfare Fund has gathered compassion, helped the poor, and ensured that more children in impoverished areas can access medical care, providing an additional layer of security for their growth.
