In 1946, Odd Roar Lofterod, a Norwegian cross-country skiing champion, developed the first insulating and moisture-wicking garment made from 【Helanca】 fiber to protect his son from freezing winds and snow during high-speed skating training. His innovative design not only won the admiration of his son’s teammates but also caught the attention of many professional athletes. In the same year, he founded the ODLO brand, carefully selecting unique functional fabrics for every piece of sportswear to ensure the most comfortable fit and optimal athletic performance for athletes. Thanks to its outstanding functionality and comfort, ODLO quickly gained praise among skiers, and by the 1972 Sapporo Winter Olympics, athletes from as many as 25 national teams purchased ODLO apparel at their own expense to compete. In 1986, ODLO moved its headquarters to Switzerland and established ODLO International to expand into global markets.
