Team members gather at the ancient Great Wall to challenge their limits72hours
According to the organizing committee, all participants will trek through8desert grasslands over the course of21to23days, covering100kilometers, starting from Xitun and ending at the ancient town of Xiakou. Participants must complete72kilometers,32kilometers, and45kilometers respectively within the three-day23hour period. Yet, the sweat, hardship, and exhaustion are also key to fostering a spirit of mutual aid and teamwork.
The race will pass by numerous ruins of the ancient Great Wall dating back to the Han and Ming dynasties. In his speech, Mr. Chen Yidan called on athletes to take care of and protect this section of the ancient Great Wall. To this end, the organizing committee has set up special awards such as “Green Great Wall” and “Great Wall Partner” to encourage participants to pay attention to, protect, and contribute to the preservation of the Great Wall.
Internet+Public Welfare+Walking, exploring the infinite possibilities of the future
How do walking and public welfare come together? The annual Yixingjia event gathers these wonderful people who are passionate about public welfare, full of love, and committed to action — using the format of public welfare plus hiking to spread the seeds of public welfare like a forest. For this 100-kilometer race, Tencent Public Welfare has also launched a customized version, continuing the spirit of public welfare every step of the way!
In his speech, Mr. Chen Yidan stated, “Public welfare is not just about fundraising. The internet connects not only those in need, but also donors, public welfare activists, and advocates of public welfare ideals.”
This is Mr. Chen Yidan’s second year participating in Yi Xing Jia. He said, “This year’s ‘Yi Xing Jia’ is a combination of online fundraising and off-road challenges, a connection between the ancient Great Wall and young people, and a link between historical culture and modern public welfare.” He is very much looking forward to what this combination and connection will produce and influence—and all of that will be told by the Yi Xing Jia themselves!
Over the next three days, the Yi Xing Jia will embark on a 100-kilometer journey of endurance through the desert grasslands. They will walk a hundred kilometers a day, sleep in tents at night, and endure20temperature differences of nearly……40 degrees
