In the golden autumn of October, with the sun casting light on the danxia landform, Zhijindong Cave World Geopark has seen a surge of visitors, with geological tourism highly favored by tourists. During the "National Day" Golden Week, Zhijindong Cave received 390,000 visitors, generating a total tourism income of 83 million yuan; among them, 78,000 people entered the cave, with ticket revenue reaching 8.18 million yuan, both showing year-on-year increases of 96% and 108% respectively, setting new historical records.
A masterpiece of nature and a witness to the passage of time, Guizhou’s Zhijindong Cave World Geopark, with its rich karst geological phenomena, records the dramatic changes of the Guizhou Plateau. According to geological experts, this cave gradually formed from an ancient ocean floor to a kilometer-deep carbonate rock stratum, influenced by the Yanshan Movement and the Himalayan orogeny 250 million years ago. The air inside the cave contains high levels of carbon dioxide, with a constant temperature of 19 degrees Celsius year-round, giving it therapeutic medical value and making it an all-season tourist destination.
Leveraging its locational advantages brought by improved transportation and its close connections with Guiyang as a tourist hub and surrounding key scenic spots, Zhijindong Cave has introduced all-season tour routes and products. A direct shuttle bus from Guiyang to Zhijindong Cave Scenic Area runs year-round, making it more convenient for tourists to reach the site. Meanwhile, preferential policies will continue to be offered after the National Day holiday.
From October 8th to the Double Ninth Festival, a science education tour themed “Building a World Geopark · Promoting the Protection of Geological Heritage” will offer “Great Benefits for Seniors.” All seniors aged 60 and above can enter both Zhijindong Cave and Zhijindong Grand Canyon free of charge by presenting valid identification such as an ID card or household registration certificate. Additionally, a series of preferential policies, including half-price entry from Monday to Friday, will be rolled out for the general public.
