The foodie gang’s Jiege had been inviting me to [Hulk Burger] for ages. According to reliable intel from a Xizhi food expert, this burger joint is amazing. Finally, on a Saturday, we came for brunch. Xiaotu’s personal takeaway? It’s seriously amazing!!!
Since it was just the two of us—Jiege and me—for the first time, our eating power was severely lacking, but we wanted to try everything. We ordered two omelets (the Weird Omelet and the Pork Belly Omelet), two burger sets, and ended up stuffed just from the omelets. By the time we polished off the burgers, we were so full we could barely keep our eyes open, feeling like we couldn’t eat another bite all day. But everything on the menu looked so good—we’ve decided to gather more foodies next time for a full-on binge.
Now I have an ultra-delicious brunch option for workdays.
[Hulk Burger] has been around on Ren’ai Road in Xizhi for quite a while. I’ve lived in Xizhi for over ten years but never paid much attention to the local eats, so I’d missed it until now—this time, it was thanks to a foodie’s recommendation.

The space isn’t big, but they mainly serve classic American fare like burgers, paninis, sandwiches, bagels, as well as toast and omelets. It’s different from your average breakfast shop, leaning more toward an American diner menu. The dishes are not only creative and unique but also made with quality ingredients and generous portions. For American-style burgers, their prices are pretty affordable, offering amazing value for money.

While we were still deciding what to order, these two omelets caught our eye, so we ordered one of each.

Weird Omelet – NT$50
It’s packed with tuna, basil, and corn—the filling is super rich. The omelet wrapper is crispy and fragrant, and the taste and texture are fantastic. The moment we took our first bites, both of us said in unison that we could totally get this to take to work.

Grandpa’s Pork Belly Omelet – NT$60
The omelet wrapper is just as crispy and flaky, but the filling is switched up to pork belly. It’s also a very filling portion with great flavor. That said, between the two, we slightly prefer the Weird Omelet—I’d probably still order both and share.

Popular must-orders

Popular must-order [Black Jack Set] – NT$150: burger + crispy fries + black tea (can upgrade drink for extra charge)

The bun is black, but it’s super crispy, almost like a crackling crust, paired with a delicious filling that’s visually striking and pretty cool-looking.

There are three flavors: Black Jack / Peanut Butter, Black Hulk / Mexican Chili, and Black Salsa / Salsa Sauce. I got the Black Jack, and it really shocked me when it arrived—it’s huge, with tons of layers, topped with a mountain of peanuts and peanut butter.

The moment I saw all that peanut butter and cheese, I shouted “Oh no!” because the calories are definitely as off the charts as its value for money—truly a sinful abyss. QAQ

Cutting into it was even more surprising. Just the beef patty alone, I’d guess, is about 2.5–3 cm thick, super juicy and springy without falling apart. Then there’s peanut butter, cheese, bacon, fried egg, lettuce, tomato, pickles…
This whole set for NT$150 includes fries and Ceylon black tea—it’s seriously such incredible value, boss how do you stay in business? Q_Q (tearing up) Suddenly reminded me of those sad McDonald’s burgers I had the other day… looking wistfully into the distance.

Crispy Burger Set – NT$150
Comes in five flavors: basil chicken thigh, berry honey chicken thigh, saucy chicken thigh, saucy beef, and BBQ beef. That day I went with the berry honey chicken thigh.

The bun for the crispy burger is seriously crispy but also soft, super tasty. The chicken thigh patty is huge—one whole piece barely fits in the bun.

The filling is also very rich. The shop gives you gloves to make eating easier, otherwise it’d be impossible to take a bite of something this big. The flavor is really good—the chicken thigh is tender and fragrant, and it pairs perfectly with the sauce, cheese, and bun. Super juicy, and frying it makes it a little less heavy in calories than deep-frying… XD.

The burger is so big you kinda need some technique to eat it, and there’s always a splash risk—proceed with caution… XD
The shop space is actually quite small, which is a bit of a shame. There aren’t many tables, so it fills up quickly, but the turnover is decent. If you come when it’s full, just wait a little and a spot will open up.

Honestly, Hulk Burger really impressed me. The foodie’s recommendation was spot-on—I didn’t expect there to be an American burger breakfast spot in Xizhi with such great value. In Taipei, it’d probably cost twice as much. The variety is great, the flavors are top-notch, and you can definitely taste the owner’s care. Most exciting of all, it’s giving me a new go-to brunch option for workdays. They also do delivery, so Hulk Burger is definitely going to be one of my favorite spots. Though they only serve until noon, so friends who want to try, come early.
