On November 10, the world’s premier snowboarding event “Air+Style” officially announced it will be held at Beijing National Stadium (the “Bird’s Nest”) on December 4–5. Red Bull declared it will serve as the title sponsor, providing energy support for this international top-tier snowboarding competition for another consecutive year. This year, a special “Red Bull Best Trick Award” will be introduced, highlighting the coolest moments from competitors’ runs and encouraging athletes to pull out all the stops and deliver their best tricks.

Chinese snowboarder He Wei introduces the snowboarding event at the “Air+Style” press conference
The Olympics have played a catalytic role, and this year’s event is expected to attract around 70 participants, including 24 of the world’s top snowboard athletes and judges. He Wei, the Chinese homegrown snowboarder sponsored by Red Bull—also known as “Xiao Hu”—will continue to represent China as the sole official athlete, competing alongside world-class snowboarders. At the press conference, Xiao Hu said, “This will be my third time participating in Air+Style. Each competition brings unique experiences and challenges, and I expect significant technical improvement.” In preparation for Air+Style, Xiao Hu has put together an intensive training schedule, hoping to surprise everyone during next month’s official event.
This year’s “Air+Style” competition will continue to use a points-based ranking system. Qualifiers will take place on December 4, with 16 athletes advancing to the finals. On December 5, a one-on-one knockout round will determine the champion. While audiences enjoy the athletes’ stunning aerial flips and tricks, two “mystery guests” will also perform live concerts this year, pushing the audience experience to new heights with thrilling snow flights and high-energy music. To inspire athletes to push the boundaries in trick difficulty and creativity, the competitor with the highest single-jump score throughout the competition will win the $5,000 “Red Bull Best Trick Award.” Additionally, 1,000–3,000 cubic meters of snow will be produced on-site using liquid nitrogen, ensuring high-level competition conditions with stable snow quality and enhanced safety—all while delivering an extraordinary visual spectacle for spectators.
First-Ever China Air+Style Models Competition Promotes Snowboarding
With the launch of “Air+Style,” Red Bull has established itself as a leader in top-tier winter sports events and extreme fashion trends. By bringing together the hottest trend music, the coolest youth parties, and the most exciting professional competitions, it ushers in the 2015–2016 winter sports season and creates more stages for young people to unleash their energy in the snow.
Against the backdrop of the Winter Olympics and to further enhance the influence of snowboarding among university students, this year’s Beijing Air+Style World Snowboarding Championship has also launched the “First China Air+Style Models Competition” on college campuses in Beijing to promote this premier event.
