Prior to the race, the organizing committee specially invited the Living Buddha from Garzê Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in Sichuan—Master Ruoqiu—to Dashanbao Town, where he led everyone in praying for those affected by the Ludian earthquake.
This event aimed to raise awareness about the lives of people in disaster-stricken areas and to support orphans. Huaxia Insurance, one of the partners hosting the event, also established a special fund for the Ludian earthquake zone to aid reconstruction and support efforts in regions affected by natural disasters.
