On November 14, the 2015-2016 ski season at Vanke Songhua Lake Resort officially kicked off, with hundreds of skiing enthusiasts from across the country starting their winter skiing adventures here.
At the Vanke Songhua Lake Ski Resort, reporters saw visitors dressed in bright ski suits enjoying the fun of snow sports on the slopes, including scenes of “families hitting the slopes together.” Five-year-old Wang Yinuo was there with his parents. “The child first tried skiing last winter and was very interested, so we’re back again this year,” said Wang Yinuo’s mother.
This winter, the Songhua Lake Ski Resort has fully opened 28 ski runs, increasing the skiing area to 1.51 million square meters. Six new Austrian Doppelmayr chairlifts with heated seats have been added, spanning a total length of up to 9 kilometers. Challenging advanced runs and a snowboard park cater to more experienced skiers. Ding Changfeng, Senior Vice President of Vanke Group, expects the resort to attract 200,000 visitors this season.
It is understood that the Vanke Songhua Lake Resort is a key project in Jilin Province’s tourism development. The Songhua Lake Ski Resort is located at the northern foot of Daqing Mountain and by the shores of Songhua Lake, featuring a unique terrain that can accommodate both family vacations and international competitions, with the highest elevation drop reaching 605 meters.
