1. Before setting out, understand all aspects of the activity route, including climate and weather conditions, the start and end points of the route and the distance, elevation gain, escape routes, and other information.

2. Equip your first-aid kit, backup food, headlamps, and survival supplies based on the various aspects of the route and your emergency plan.
