This summer, the “Guomao Real Estate · Run, Jiangxi 2016 First City Orienteering Competition” is set to thrill you. The first ever team event combining health, leisure, and entertainment is about to explode onto the scene. As of 12:00 on June 8, 2016, the number of registrations has surpassed 8,000 — an unprecedented scale.
It is understood that this competition has set up 5 theme-based routes. Participants will be randomly assigned to teams, and the specific route and mysterious tasks can only be revealed once the challenge begins. Teams must complete all the mystery tasks to win. Reporters inquired multiple times with the organizers and learned that the second route will feature the Shengjin Pagoda as a key checkpoint. The Shengjin Pagoda, with its classic and elegant design, showcases the typical artistic style of architecture in southern China. Built since the Tang Dynasty, it has a history of over 1,100 years and serves as a carrier of historical information. It is also known as the “symbol of balancing water and fire, standing guard over the river city,” and is considered a treasure of Nanchang. Participants are guaranteed both fun and leisure, while also exploring Nanchang’s historic buildings and taking in the city’s rich cultural landscape.
As the event draws near, there are only 10 days until the opening of the “Guomao Real Estate · Run, Jiangxi 2016 First City Orienteering Competition.” Note that registered participants who have successfully signed up should collect their race materials (including competition clothing, number bibs, team flags, portable backpacks, etc.) at the first-floor lobby of the Jiangxi Provincial Sports Bureau Guesthouse at No. 28 Fuzhou Road, Nanchang City, from June 13 to 15, 2016 (9:00–17:00).
The organizers emphasized to reporters, “Teams will be randomly grouped by the organizing committee according to the race routes. All participating teams must collectively pass through designated checkpoints within the stipulated time and complete relevant tasks. The final ranking is determined by the timing recorded by the start and finish checkpoints, with the shortest time winning. The top 15 teams on each route will receive prizes or certificates as awards.” Additionally, each team must designate a captain as the team leader, who will attend a pre-race training session arranged by the organizing committee. The team captain must arrive at the race starting point before 8:00 on June 18, gather the team members, and ensure all participants arrive and check in before 8:30. Then, teams will enter the designated waiting area and depart in sequence as instructed, and must reach the finish line before the cutoff time of 15:30.
