Taoyuan Flower Color Festival: Though the flower seas haven’t fully bloomed, the land art installations are also eye-catching

The 2nd Taoyuan City Flower Color Festival in 2016 kicked off on November 12th in five floral zones including Zhongli, Daxi, Luzhu, Dayuan, and Pingzhen. The city’s Agriculture Bureau noted on the 11th that due to this year’s weather conditions, the flower seas have not bloomed as scheduled, but unlike the first edition of the festival, various distinctive land art installations have been placed within the flower fields. The public is welcome to come admire the flowers and also enjoy the land art, dancing alongside the flower seas.
To facilitate public access to the event venues, the Taoyuan City Government has planned free shuttle buses and self-driving routes based on the sequence of activities in the five zones, urging the public to take the shuttle buses as much as possible to appreciate the flowers and contribute to environmental protection. The shuttle bus routes and schedules for each zone are as follows:
The first events on November 12th and 13th will be held in Zhongli and Daxi, with shuttle bus routes: Zhongli Station – Zhongli Exhibition Area and Zhongli Station – Daxi Exhibition Area. On November 19th and 20th, there will be a total of four free shuttle bus routes: Zhongli Exhibition Area – Dayuan Exhibition Area, Taoyuan Station – Dayuan Exhibition Area – Luzhu Exhibition Area – Taoyuan Station, Zhongli Station – Zhongli Exhibition Area, and Zhongli Station – Daxi Exhibition Area. On November 26th and 27th, there will be two shuttle bus routes: Taoyuan Station – Luzhu Exhibition Area – Daxi Exhibition Area – Taoyuan Station, and Zhongli Station – Pingzhen Exhibition Area – Dayuan Exhibition Area – Zhongli Station.

The first shuttle buses from each station will depart at 8:00 AM, running hourly with a 30-minute break at noon. The first afternoon departure is at 12:30 PM (except for the Zhongli Exhibition Area – Dayuan Exhibition Area route). The Zhongli Exhibition Area – Dayuan Exhibition Area route runs every 20 minutes, with a 30-minute noon break and the first afternoon departure at 12:30 PM. The Taoyuan Station shuttle bus boarding point is next to the bus stop at the rear station exit (bus stop name: Rear Station [Lohas Bus]). The Zhongli Station shuttle bus boarding point is after passing through the pedestrian underpass at the rear station exit, turn right and wait at the bus shelter on Xinxing Road (bus stop name: Zhongli Rear Railway Station). Temporary shuttle bus signs will be set up at each station for easy identification by the public.
