On a 36°C summer weekend, many might prefer staying at home with the air conditioning on and watching TV. But early in the morning of June 25, despite the sweltering heat, a group of people headed en masse to the Jinshanling section of the Great Wall in Beijing just to participate in the first Great Wall Trail Run, co-hosted by National Geographic magazine, TFO (THE FIRST OUTDOOR), and other brand partners.
Also present at the event were key guests including Zhao Xiangdong, Director of the Culture, Tourism, Radio, Film and Television Bureau of Luanping County; Zhang Guodong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Deputy Director of the Beijing Jinshanling Eco-Cultural Tourism Economic Zone Management Office; Qi Dong, Head of National Geographic Partners China; Guo Zhongxing, Chairman of the Jinshanling Great Wall Tourism Development Co., Ltd.; and of course, outdoor sports aren’t just for men—executives such as Ms. Ma Yanli, Executive Publisher of National Geographic China, and Ms. Ma Xuemin, Deputy Secretary and Deputy County Magistrate of Luanping County, also attended the launch ceremony.
