Germany invents outdoor accommodation "beach basket" for resting and overnight stays

For Europeans, sunbathing on the beach in the summer is an important part of life. To make the seaside experience more comfortable, good design has also emerged, and recently a German“beach sleep basket”(Schlafstrandkörbe) has caught a lot of attention and even won a travel award.

According to the Lonely Planet website,the beach sleep basket won the “Best Travel Innovation Award” for its promising future profitability, eco-friendliness, and sense of innovation. Measuring about 2.4 meters by 1.3 meters, it can accommodate two people, and comes with a mattress and pillow inside. The cost is around 1,500 to 5,000 Taiwan dollars, which is not too expensive. Travelers can book it the night before.

The advantage of the beach sleep basket is that it functions just like a hotel room—the daytime serves as a space to relax on the beach, and at night it can be used for overnight stays. Each basket has its own nearby torch, and there are also washing facilities close by. This new type of resting design may become a new trend in the future.
