In this world we live in, there is a group of children who possess a certain blue quality: cold, pure, melancholic, lonely, and beautiful.
They have eyes as clear as starlight, yet they never describe to their mothers all that they see; they wear smiles as sweet as angels, yet seldom share with their fathers any joy or sorrow. They are not deaf, yet they hear nothing; not blind, yet they see nothing. More often than not, they sit alone in corners, not speaking all day. They may be considered intellectually disabled, yet often excel in certain areas. They frequently possess extraordinary talents, such as in painting, music, memory, and more.
They are the children with autism—we call them "children of the stars."
Photographers and teams participated by documenting the families of autistic children and their conditions.
In October 2016, Honeyview Camera launched the online campaign “‘Give a Smile to Crying’ — A Photo Exhibition on Autism Awareness Call for Entries.” In addition to inviting professional photographers, we are also calling on the public to submit photography works related to the theme.
In early 2017, the “‘Give a Smile to Crying’ — A Photo Exhibition on Autism Awareness” will be held at Honeyview Holy Point Space, where we will showcase outstanding works from professional photographers and 50 selected photography enthusiasts, presenting a different world of “children of the stars.”
At the event, Honeyview Camera will also select one final work from these 50 pieces to be used as a public service advertisement. The selected photographer may also become a signed photographer with Honeyview and join the “Image Original Power Plan.”
