The camping industry is booming. Co-hosted by CampsChina, SMART Resort Industry Intelligence Platform, and Aijia Media, the 2016 China Camping Industry Annual Ceremony will be grandly held on January 11 at the Shanghai Crowne Plaza Hotel. With the theme of “Cross-border · Integration · Sharing,” this year’s ceremony aims to respond to national policy calls, grasp market trends, summarize industry achievements, analyze future developments, promote cross-industry exchanges and integration, and create a landmark event for the camping industry.
In conjunction with the ceremony, Asia Outdoor Show — a co-organizer of this annual event — has also invited top figures from the outdoor industry to share their experiences and discuss practical issues such as how the outdoor and camping sectors can develop collaboratively. Additionally, an Outdoor Elite Salon (Shanghai Station) themed around camping market development and a resource matchmaking event for the outdoor and camping sectors have been carefully prepared to help attendees establish business partnerships.
The 2016 China Camping Industry Annual Ceremony is the highest-profile, most prestigious, and most comprehensive event in China’s camping industry. It is jointly organized by CampsChina, SMART Resort Industry Intelligence Platform, and Aijia Media, with the support of authoritative institutions including the National Tourism Administration, the General Administration of Sport of China, the China Automobile Dealers Association, the China Tourism Vehicle & Ship Association, the National Standardization Technical Committee, the former Camping Branch of the China Automobile & Motorcycle Sports Federation, the China Tourism Entrepreneur Association, the China Youth Growth Education Base Development Research Institute, the Shanghai Standardization Committee, the Yunnan Tourism Planning & Research Institute, the RV Research Center of East China Normal University, and others.
The ceremony will gather nearly 300 distinguished guests, including Steven Hick, Chairman of the SMART Resort Industry Expert Committee; Meng Rui, Deputy Director of the Yunnan Tourism Planning & Research Institute; Li Lun, General Manager of Town Business at Home Inns & Resorts Group; Cai Lihong, Executive Vice President of eHi Car Services; Li Zhong, President of Colliers International; Zhang Heng, Chairman of Sanfo Outdoor; Li Keqi, Founder of Aijia Media; Ma Jin, Partner of Baojia Mobility; Shen Qi, General Manager of Electric Vehicle Collector; Liang Fenglei, Chairman of Kuaiyixing; Zhao Feilong, CEO of Yujing Auto; Li Yangjun, Deputy General Manager of Nanjing Ningfei International Exhibition Co., Ltd.; Qi Wan, Founder & CEO of Qiansu and Founder of Yunzhanggui; Ding Chan, General Manager of Design Harvest; and Cui Sheng, General Manager of Qingjing Original Homestay at Mount Mogan. They will come together to deliver an annual gathering of industry leaders.
This is where the camping ecosystem will be explored comprehensively and at multiple levels.
The guests invited to this camping ceremony come from various cultural and tourism industries, including self-driving, outdoor activities, boutique accommodations, resort tourism, and online travel OTA platforms. With cross-industry collaboration, the camping industry gains more possibilities — ten exploration speeches by numerous interdisciplinary experts will be dedicated to the camping industry. With foresight, the industry becomes richer — ten new products and projects that support the development of the camping industry will be launched. With depth, the industry becomes more professional — four dialogues, seminars, and panel discussions from different perspectives will deliver substantial insights throughout. This camping ceremony will transcend the boundaries of camping, bring the campsite industry into the public eye, encourage more people to interact with camping, and gather collective wisdom to explore a camping ecosystem suitable for China’s development within the context of all-for-one tourism.
New Perspectives: Multiple Experts Deliver Speeches from Fresh Angles
Currently, the campsite industry is developing rapidly, and staying ahead of the latest trends is key to gaining a competitive edge. During the keynote speeches at the camping ceremony, Sun Jiandong, President of Sunshine Domain Group and Founder of CampsChina, will rethink the camping industry in his speech titled “Redefining the Camping Industry.” Li Zhong, General Manager of Colliers International China, will share “The Holistic Visualization of Service Elements in All-for-One Tourism” from both theory and practice. Wang Xu, Secretary-General of the SMART Resort Industry Expert Committee, will also explore “Where to Go in the Era of All-for-One Tourism Implementation.”
This camping ceremony will highlight the concept of “cross-border and integration.” At the event, Meng Rui, Deputy Director of the Yunnan Tourism Planning & Research Institute, will use Yunnan as an example to discuss “Thoughts on the Development of Yunnan Campsites and Self-Driving Tours Based on Self-Driving Friendliness Research.” Zhang Heng, Chairman of Sanfo Outdoor — one of the few publicly listed outdoor companies in China — will announce “The Main Business Direction of Sanfo Outdoor After Going Public.” As the best reference for campsite industry services comes from the hotel management sector, we have invited Li Lun, General Manager of Town Business at Home Inns & Resorts Group, to share “The Application of Chain Hotels in Campsites.” Cai Lihong, Executive Vice President of eHi Car Services, will also explore how self-driving rentals can drive the growth of the camping industry.
For the campsite industry-focused sessions, we have invited Li Zhangcheng, Chairman of ODM Shanghai Camping Design Consulting Company; Shen Aixiang, CEO of Hangzhou Lvjuxing Planet Network Technology Co., Ltd.; and Sui Yongfeng, Deputy General Manager of Lianzhong Group. They will deliver speeches on key aspects such as design, operation, supporting facilities, services, and internet intelligence in the campsite industry, addressing current industry pain points.

New Collisions: Multiple Brainstorming Sessions for the Latest Solutions
Numerous experts will form groups to brainstorm and directly address solutions for the development of the campsite industry. New concepts for high-quality campsite construction and operation, the integration of automotive service systems with the camping industry, the collaborative development of outdoor activities and campsites, and the non-standard vacation industry ecosystem — all four perspectives (campsites, self-driving, outdoor, and vacation) will jointly strategize for the growth of the campsite industry. What will converge here is not just camping, but a diversity of cross-industry thinking.
Here, you will witness the industry’s most authoritative and grandest awards ceremony.
The “Deer-Eagle Award” is a camping industry award established at the previous ceremony. With the deer-eagle trophy (the trophy features a deer body and eagle antlers, a homophone for “camping” and symbolizing the “beautiful, free” life brought by the camping industry), it includes five major themes: “Awakening,” “Glory,” “Pioneering,” “Final Note,” and “Integration.” Awards are given based on design, influence, communication power, driving force, and special categories. After a year-long competition, the first Deer-Eagle Award winners have been selected, and the laureates will be announced and awarded during the ceremony’s gala dinner. The Deer-Eagle Award is designed to encourage emerging companies in the industry, recognize innovative products, and honor those who have tirelessly contributed to the camping industry — inspiring future generations to move forward and promote healthy industry development. From now on, it will be held annually alongside the China Camping Industry Annual Ceremony.
To highlight the cultural & tourism theme and liven up the ceremony atmosphere, the organizing committee has also arranged a variety of artistic performances, including a piano solo of Chopin’s Nocturne, a jazz dance performance of “She Came To Give It To You,” an acrobatic show “Fire and Ice,” a solo performance of “Droma in My Dream,” an electro-luminescent dance “Glow In Dark,” Oriental Dance, and more. Stay tuned!
