In 2018, the event will once again gather innovative products and technologies from the global outdoor, winter sports, action sports, fitness, functional fabrics and trims, and seamless technology industries. It will bring together numerous professionals in the sports industry for this annual highlight, sharing the immense business opportunities and growth potential within the sector driven by favorable policies.
I. Adjusting the exhibition dates to align with diverse business opportunities
For industry peers, the year begins with ISPO BEIJING — an ideal time to plan that year’s business strategies and procurement schedules, laying the groundwork for brand operations throughout the year. Considering that the Chinese Lunar New Year in 2018 falls later than usual, to better facilitate trade, enhance overall services, and help both new and existing customers seize opportunities in a timely manner, ISPO BEIJING 2018 has moved its dates to before the Lunar New Year, from January 24–27, 2018, with the venue still at the China National Convention Center.
This new timing will better meet the needs of industry product launches and strategic planning, avoiding the rush caused by the Lunar New Year period and allowing brands more time for pre-show planning and preparation.
II. Expanding exhibition space to accommodate growing demand
The original exhibition area at ISPO BEIJING has long been in short supply, with increasing brand participation pushing utilization rates to near capacity year after year.
To better serve the evolving brand showcase needs of existing clients and meet the growing number of applications from new exhibitors, the 2018 event will further expand its exhibition area by opening the fourth floor of the China National Convention Center for the first time, bringing the total exhibition space to 47,000 square meters.
We aim to provide more brands with suitable display opportunities tailored to their market environments and business needs. The presence of diverse categories will also generate synergistic effects, promoting the development of new channels and business opportunities.
III. Deepening focus on snow and ice sports, covering niche industry segments
With the release of the “Development Plan for Snow and Ice Sports (2016–2025)” and the “National Snow and Ice Facilities Construction Plan (2016–2022),” the development of snow and ice sports in China has received unprecedented attention. These “Two Snow and Ice Plans” mark the beginning of a new era in the vigorous growth of China’s snow and ice sports, presenting unlimited business opportunities across the entire industry.
In response to these trends, ISPO BEIJING 2018 will deepen its commitment to the snow and ice industry. In addition to consolidating its core skiing segment, the event will expand into ice sports, integrate snow and ice tourism, and include service providers such as event organizers and training institutions. This approach will actively enhance ISPO BEIJING’s representation across all niche segments of snow and ice sports, connecting upstream and downstream sectors and serving the entire industry.
IV. Embracing sports services, focusing on value potential in emerging sectors
By 2020, the total scale of China’s sports industry is expected to exceed 3 trillion yuan. According to data from the General Administration of Sport of China, sports goods manufacturing currently accounts for 79% of the industry’s total value, while sports services — including event organization, fitness and leisure, venue management, and training — make up just 21%. This indicates that a balanced and comprehensive sports industry structure has yet to be formed, and there is significant room for growth in sports services.
Keeping pace with the times, ISPO is attuned to industry trends and focuses on the development and hot topics in the sports services sector. With rising mass participation in sports and upgrades in industry structure, ISPO is actively promoting the rapid growth of the sports services industry.
