Here, every visit here will leave you in awe of the wonders of time and the environment.
This is Zhijindong Cave, located in Guanzhai Miao Ethnic Township, Zhijin County, Guizhou Province.
Zhijindong Cave lies on the southern bank of the Liuchong River, one of the headstreams of the Wu River, and is 120 kilometers from Guiyang, the provincial capital. It stretches approximately 12.1 kilometers in length, covering a total area of over 700,000 square meters.

This underground treasure trove, dormant for tens of thousands of years, boasts the world’s most complete, abundant, exquisite, and unique karst landscapes, and is hailed as “China’s most beautiful cave for tourism.” International geomorphologists have called it “a world-class karst landscape.”
In summer, while the outside world swelters under scorching heat, the temperature inside Zhijindong Cave remains a cool 10 to 16 degrees Celsius. Even those sensitive to the cold may need to dress in long sleeves before entering the cave.
The changes of time and the shifts of the earth’s crust have created not only exquisitely crafted karst wonders but also shaped Guizhou’s unique scenery. The cave is dominated by sedimentary rock formations, featuring over 200 karst landforms such as karren, karst grooves, and caves. Inside, stalactites, stalagmites, stone flags, stone pillars, and stone shields abound. These formations blend and cling to one another in ingenious ways, presenting Zhijindong Cave’s grand, marvelous, and comprehensive features.
Attractions such as the Welcome Hall, Scripture Hall, Snow Fragrance Palace, Longevity Star Palace, Moon Palace, Heavenly Palace, Hundred Thousand Mountains, Pagoda Forest Cave, Golden Rat Palace, Mountain-Viewing Lake, and Water Country span the 350,000 square meters of explorable space within Zhijindong Cave. Sights like the Twin Lions Welcoming Guests, Towering Cliff Pines, Sun and Moon in Harmony, the Pipa’s Final Song, and the Dragon and Tiger Rendezvous—imbued with a sense of wonder and untouched by human hands—leave visitors awestruck.
