A sudden heavy rain shattered the original tranquility of Ulanqab, yet it could not extinguish the enthusiasm soaring over the Huitengxile Grassland. A group of passionate MBA elites were running through the muddy and slippery alpine meadows in the rain, with over a dozen Beijing (BJ) brand off-road vehicles, like steel beasts, escorting them on both sides. In this event, the drivers of the off-road vehicles and the trail runners together crafted a carnival for off-road enthusiasts. They moved forward fearlessly, turning the impossible into the possible.

On July 23, the "Beijing Automobile · 2nd Asia-Pacific Business Schools Prairie Challenge" (hereinafter referred to as the "Prairie Challenge") concluded on the Huitengxile Grassland in Ulanqab City, Inner Mongolia. Nearly a thousand MBA participants from over 30 top business schools, including Tsinghua, Peking University, Renmin University, and Shanghai Jiao Tong University, completed an 18-kilometer outdoor challenge through off-road running. Among them, the Beijing (BJ) brand served as the title sponsor for this Prairie Challenge and provided logistical support vehicles, ensuring the safety of guests, media coverage, and track rescue throughout the event.
When off-road vehicles meet off-road people, passion for freedom and challenge takes root.
Starting in 2017, under the major strategy of "putting customers first and transforming the SUV market," the Beijing (BJ) brand began connecting with consumers, striving to create a premium marketing atmosphere. The marketing trilogy of "Inspiration," "Emotion," and "Connection" emerged at this time, focusing on building a closed loop that takes consumers from "awareness" to "purchase," and from "purchase" to "loyalty."
Whether they drive off-road vehicles or engage in off-road running, their hearts beat with passion, and they inherently possess the unique trait of being "broadly off-road": freedom, tenacity, the pursuit of limits, and never giving up. They are a group of people with deep sentiment, believing that work is not the entirety of life, and that only through off-roading can they enjoy the liberation of the soul. They are never satisfied with the steel jungles of busy urban noise and smog, preferring instead to traverse highlands, valleys, fragrant grasses, and blooming flowers. Though they may seem out of place among the crowd, they carry within a beacon that believes in freedom and challenging oneself.
They never confine themselves to fixed routes or destinations, preferring instead to take paths that ordinary people cannot, encountering sights unseen by others along the way. This demands the ultimate off-road performance of vehicles like those from the Beijing (BJ) brand. Faced with complex and ever-changing off-road conditions—flying sand, rugged terrain, climbing, and descending—the powerful four-wheel-drive performance and outstanding off-road capability are essential prerequisites for reaching an off-road paradise. The Prairie Challenge undoubtedly gathered a group of such free-spirited off-road enthusiasts, die-hard fans of hardcore off-roading, with wild hearts and exceptional strength.
With off-roading as the common ground, the Beijing (BJ) brand “partners” with the Prairie Challenge
In recent years, the Beijing (BJ) brand has made numerous high-profile moves, such as sponsoring CCTV’s “The Reader” and Beijing TV’s “Extraordinary Craftsmanship,” serving as the official parade vehicle for national leaders during military reviews, and winning four championships at the 2017 Taklimakan Rally. However, this is the first time it has partnered with a long-distance off-road running event targeted at MBA participants.

Compared to urban marathons, the Prairie Challenge features more changeable weather and terrain, more complex wilderness environments, and a multi-day continuous competition schedule, all of which place higher demands on the physical strength, endurance, and mental resilience of off-road enthusiasts. Without the brave spirit to face challenges and continuously push personal limits, participants would only meet defeat. The Beijing (BJ) brand, with its professional off-road performance and robust military-grade quality, is inherently adept at tackling any seemingly impossible road conditions and environments. The spirit of breaking boundaries and fearlessness revered by off-road enthusiasts aligns precisely with the values of the Beijing (BJ) brand, making the partnership between off-road vehicle drivers and trail runners a natural and inevitable “union.” The collaboration between Beijing Automobile and the Prairie Challenge is truly a meeting of kindred spirits.
The participating MBA off-road runners are all core mid-to-senior level personnel from major companies. They are the backbone of China’s future development, individuals who pursue challenge and freedom, strive to realize life ideals and personal value, and as off-road enthusiasts, they are naturally potential customers of Beijing Automobile. Meanwhile, the drivers of Beijing (BJ) brand off-road vehicles are often individualistic middle-class individuals—passionate off-road aficionados. Compared to the aesthetic appearance of vehicles, they are more committed to mastering the powerful performance of off-road cars. When off-road drivers meet trail runners, when the Beijing Automobile off-road dynasty—an embodiment of national might—encounters the MBA elite—the pillars of the nation—a wonderful chemical reaction ignites above the Prairie Challenge, heating up the air and sparking their fearless off-road spirit.
Summary:
Only through off-roading can one journey boundlessly; only by journeying boundlessly can one reach the world; and only by reaching the world can the heart soar far. As the drums fade at the finish line, the heat of the event gradually dissipates. Yet, this rainy off-road journey undertaken together by the Beijing (BJ) brand off-road vehicles and the Prairie Challenge has undoubtedly opened a new chapter in the lives of every off-road enthusiast.
